Hello fellow Kiwanis email users! We are making the switch to Microsoft 365!
Kiwanis has seen a substantial growth in the last two years. With this comes more communication within the organization, and with business outside of Kiwanis. This switch will improve many aspects of our communications, and provide new tools for our organization to grow.
Switching to Microsoft 365 will improve our online security
Switching from Gmail to Microsoft 365 strengthens security with advanced threat protection, encryption, and multi-factor authentication. Microsoft 365’s robust security features mitigate risks of phishing, malware, and unauthorized access. It offers compliance tools to ensure adherence to industry regulations. Regular security updates and centralized management enhance control over data access and permissions. Overall, Microsoft 365 provides a fortified security framework, crucial for safeguarding sensitive nonprofit information against evolving cyber threats.
New tools and communication for everyone
Microsoft 365 comes with a broad set of tools that you will have access to, readily available online when you login to your email at www.office.com. You will be able to share and edit documents in realtime, seamlessly through Microsoft Teams.

EMAIL ACCOUNT MIGRATION
Transfer of all @a2kiwanis.org email accounts and data from Gmail to 365
April 1st
EMAIL GOES LIVE 9AM www.office.com
You will be able to login for email and files on Office 365
Email will NOT be accessible March 29th 10PM – March 31st
CALENDARS – NOTICE
Calendars will transfer. If you have shared a google calendar with someone, you will need to re-share this calendar to them in 365 calendars.
CONTACTS – NOTICE
Contacts will propagate based on email inbox senders information, but specific google contact lists will not. We can assist transferring manually.
Personal Google Drive Data Transfer
If you have already registered your @a2kiwanis.org email account with Office 365 prior to this official migration, and are using OneDrive, please contact Elliot Bancel ( 312.497.2335 ) as transferring personal account data to a business account will have to be done manually.
Your temporary password will be emailed March 27th to use on your FIRST login to 365 on April 1st
You will need this temporary password the first time you login. You will enter your @a2kiwans email address and this password. Keep this password on hand for your first login. You will create a new password at that time for your account. You will receive this temporary password via email on March 27th. If you are having difficulty upon first time login, contact Elliot Bancel at 312.497.2335.
This password will be emailed to your @a2kiwanis.org email, and your personal email account Kiwanis has on file for you.
Microsoft Authenticator App for first login
You will need to use the Microsoft Authenticator App on your phone to set up your transferred email account. You will need to download this from either Google Play Store ( Android ) or the App Store ( iPhone ). There are many authenticator apps to choose from, BE SURE it is Microsoft Authenticator with the lock logo.

Onsite Tech Support at KC April 1st 10AM-4PM
We will have onsite help on Monday April 1st to assist in setup if you are able to bring in your laptop. Elliot Bancel will be available for phone help as well at 312.497.2335. You will also be able to setup your 365 email accoujnt using your iPhone mail app as well, you do not need the Outlook app to you use on your mobile device.
